Chapter 30: Changes
Song Wan Yi watched the scene with great interest and even clapped her hands in support. “Xia Xia is so cool!”
[Ahhh, more material for the editors!]
[Boom shakalaka, I’m exploding right here!]
[Why does Ji Fengxue look so surprised? Does Xia Linxia rarely initiate kisses?]
[Hahaha, what’s with Xia Linxia’s face of enjoyment?]
[Aww, yuri is so sweet. KDLKDL]
[Too sweet, too sweet, too sweet]
[Not enough, want to see a kiss! Is there any chance for something deeper?]
“Xiao Ji, do you want to play?” Fang Qiushuang didn’t think the kiss was a big deal. She just noticed Ji Fengxue holding her cards and asked.
Ji Fengxue snapped out of it, glanced down at her cards, moved her fingers slightly, and said, “Yes, let’s switch.”
“Why?” Xia Linxia said, “I still want to play.”
“Your skills are too bad. Do you want to keep losing?”
“Can you guarantee a win?”
Ji Fengxue raised an eyebrow, “At least I won’t lose as badly as you.”
Xia Linxia weighed the pros and cons and decided to step down, fearing that if she kept losing, the punishments would become even more severe.
She moved to the side and watched as Ji Fengxue skillfully shuffled the cards, unable to take her eyes off her side profile.
Ji Fengxue’s features were quite distinctive: a high nose bridge, long, slender eyebrows. At first glance, she wasn’t stunningly beautiful, but the more you looked at her, the more attractive she became, especially her profile, which was the most irresistible to viewers.
The movie that earned Ji Fengxue an award was an art film. The light shone on her profile, making it one of the most classic beautiful shots.
Xia Linxia was staring at her, lost in thought, and suddenly met her gaze. She quickly looked away, feeling flustered. Realizing she had nothing to be afraid of, she shamelessly glared back.
Ji Fengxue chuckled softly and organized her cards.
Then Xia Linxia leaned in to look at her cards and saw a terrible hand. She couldn’t help but disdainfully say, “If you lose, I won’t play kissing games with you anymore. Losers don’t deserve my kisses.”
“And what if I win?” Ji Fengxue asked casually. “Is there a reward?”
Song Wan Yi interjected, “Give Teacher Ji a kiss as a reward.”
“Sounds good to me,” Ji Fengxue agreed.
Xia Linxia was dumbfounded. “You’re so bold.jpg”
A few minutes later, Song Wan Yi screamed and threw her cards down. “Ahhh! Why did I lose!”
Ji Fengxue laughed at her, “Because I had a teammate.”
Xia Linxia was stunned. With such a terrible hand, she still managed to win. She was practically an idol.
“Get ready for your punishment,” Ji Fengxue said, then turned to Xia Linxia. “How do you want to punish them?”
Xia Linxia felt a surge of vengeance and decisively said, “Kiss!”
Song Wan Yi and Xue Hui, who had been a couple for many years, kissed each other as naturally as drinking water.
Xia Linxia immediately lost interest. =.=
She also felt that her earlier kiss seemed childish.
Thinking of this, she glanced at Ji Fengxue, who was looking at her, and asked, “What are you looking at?”
“Are you thinking that we’re not as good as them?” Ji Fengxue asked, her eyes twinkling with amusement.
Xia Linxia: “…” Hand over your heart monitor!
In the subsequent games, Ji Fengxue rarely lost. The biggest loser, Song Wan Yi, was responsible for making dinner that night.
After dinner, Xia Linxia whimsically said she wanted to go for a walk. This time, Ji Fengxue declined Fang Qiushuang and Song Wan Yi’s offer and personally accompanied her.
The night breeze was cool, even in the summer, the air on the mountain was somewhat chilly with a strong wind.
Xia Linxia brushed her hair blown by the wind and said, “Let’s just walk for an hour.”
It was more like taking someone for a walk.
Xia Linxia sat in her wheelchair, enjoying the walk, and sweetly said, “You know, you’re like a warm old coat. If we break… ahem, if we can’t separate in the future, what should we do?”
Ji Fengxue teasingly replied, “Then we won’t separate.”
Xia Linxia scratched her head, thinking this wasn’t the conversation she wanted to have. She blamed the darn camera and rolled her eyes at the cameraman.
The cameraman: “???”
[Hahaha, is she annoyed that the cameraman is a third wheel?]
[The cameraman is so innocent, eating fresh dog food every day and still being disliked.]
[Does the show still hire? I can apply to be a cameraman!]
The two walked in silence, the wheelchair wheels squeaking.
Xia Linxia was quiet for a while, her thoughts drifting. She couldn’t help thinking that a year from now… she probably wouldn’t have the chance to bully Ji Fengxue openly again.
So, she had to bully her enough now!
“I want you to carry me back,” she suddenly requested on the way back.
Ji Fengxue stopped the wheelchair and sighed, “Are you sure?”
“Sure.”
Ji Fengxue walked in front of her and squatted down. Xia Linxia smiled and leaned on her, “Let’s go.”
Ji Fengxue hooked her legs and stood up, walking forward. After a few steps, Xia Linxia started swinging her legs, looking pleased.
“Old Ji, have you ever carried anyone else before?” Xia Linxia asked happily.
“No.”
“Really?” Xia Linxia held onto her shoulders, her head leaning forward, her soft lips lingering near her ear. She whispered, “Not even Xiao Yuran?”
Ji Fengxue paused, “No.”
Xia Linxia suddenly felt amused, not knowing why. Maybe it was because she felt like she had inexplicably won against Xiao Yuran.
Then Ji Fengxue said, “No one has ever made such a request like you.”
Xia Linxia pouted, thinking that Xiao Yuran was probably sensible and never made unreasonable demands.
“Hmph.” She pouted, bored, and rested her head on the back of Ji Fengxue’s head, yawning.
Ji Fengxue stopped, waited for a moment, then turned her head and asked, “Tired?”
“A little. The signal on the road is bad, and I can’t get online. There’s nothing fun to do.”
So genuine.
Ji Fengxue laughed and continued walking. The weight on her back grew heavier, and the little legs stopped swinging.
She quickened her pace. Suddenly, the person behind her moved her head and whispered in her ear, “Old Ji, did you already know that my leg was almost healed?”
Ji Fengxue hummed vaguely.
“Why are you always so smart?” Xia Linxia casually twirled a strand of her hair around her finger, her chin moving slightly to touch the warm, jade-like skin. She smelled a faint fragrance, mixed with a hint of sea salt.
“Because your acting is terrible,” Ji Fengxue, the actress, commented mercilessly.
Xia Linxia thought to herself, “I’m not professionally trained in acting. Isn’t it like showing off in front of an expert?”
She tapped Ji Fengxue’s neck, feeling a bit of damp sweat, and asked, “Since you knew, why did you still carry me?”
After a while, Ji Fengxue softly said, “I don’t know.”
“How could you not know?”
Ji Fengxue thought for a moment, then smiled, “Maybe I wanted to see what tricks you were planning to play.”
“So you’re treating me like a toy.” Xia Linxia messed up her hair.
“No.” Ji Fengxue denied and then said, “You’re much more fun than a toy.”
Xia Linxia, in a fit of anger, wrapped her legs around Ji Fengxue’s waist and declared, “Today, we go down together!”
Ji Fengxue found it amusing and, after a moment, burst out laughing.
“Old Ji, actually, I think…” Xia Linxia, having played enough, muttered for a while before quickly whispering in her ear, “You’re actually pretty nice.”
“Thank you. Is this my ‘nice person’ card?” Ji Fengxue asked with a smile.
Xia Linxia was amused by her. Occasionally, Ji Fengxue would crack a cold joke. It wasn’t enough to make her burst into laughter, but the contrast was endearing.
“Haven’t you received enough ‘nice person’ cards?” Xia Linxia teased.
“True, I’ve got plenty of those,” Ji Fengxue said, somewhat self-deprecatingly, but more with acceptance and a sense of letting go. “If I hadn’t received so many ‘nice person’ cards, I wouldn’t have realized I was a nice person.”
“I used to think you were blind and couldn’t see clearly that Xiao Yuran was just using your fame and status… Forget it, talking to you about this is useless. Love is blind. But now I think…” Xia Linxia looked around and whispered, “It’s Xiao Yuran who’s blind. You’re actually pretty good. You’ll definitely find someone who appreciates you and sees all your good qualities.”
Ji Fengxue smiled sincerely, “Thanks, you too.”
“Of course.”
When they returned to the villa, Song Wan Yi saw Ji Fengxue with messy hair and Xia Linxia still on her back. She was shocked, “Did you fall into a cave or something?”
[Hahaha, they just went for a walk, and Xia Linxia ended up asking for a piggyback ride!]
[I’m really curious about what sweet nothings they exchanged, they both keep smiling!]
[Both are smiling, their mouths almost up to their ears. Is this what love feels like?]
[Though autumn is approaching, I also want to fall in love!]
Ji Fengxue placed Xia Linxia on the sofa, then turned and pinched her cheek, answering Song Wan Yi’s question with a hint of mystery, “No, Xia Xia said after this piggyback ride, she’ll walk on her own. Right?”
Xia Linxia, having her scheme exposed, didn’t pretend anymore and nodded, “Yes.”
“That’s great,” Song Wan Yi said, tugging on Xue Hui’s sleeve and nodding toward them, feeling like something had changed between them.
But what exactly had changed, she couldn’t tell.
After their baths, Xia Linxia and Song Wan Yi lay on the sofa with face masks on, playing games in silence, looking as obedient as if they were doing homework.
[Are they really playing games?]
[Curious, what game are they playing? It’s so quiet. Are they playing something else?]
[Oh oh, the camera zoomed in. It really is a game!]
Not long after, the livestream ended.
With the screen going black, Xia Linxia immediately sat up. Finally, she didn’t have to waste time typing on the screen. She began to rant, “Damn it, that guy followed me the whole time. Wan Yi, let’s surround him!”
Song Wan Yi cursed, “Son of a bitch, calling us noobs!”
Xia Linxia exclaimed, “I won’t let him get away with this! Damn it, I #¥%……@*”
Song Wan Yi: “Damn it, I’ll @*#&…”
Passing by, Xue Hui heard their incessant swearing, feeling sympathetic, and reminded them, “It’s getting late.”
Song Wan Yi shouted, “Get lost!”
Xue Hui: T^T
Ji Fengxue also came to fetch someone, but before she could speak, Xia Linxia interrupted, “Let us finish this bastard off first! We won’t sleep until he’s crying!”
Song Wan Yi: “Yes!”
Full of ambition, but limited by their poor skills, Xia Linxia got shot just after her bold declaration. Just as she was about to swear, her phone was snatched away.
“Hey, what are you doing!”
Ji Fengxue nonchalantly took over her game, quickly replenished health packs, studied the terrain, and adeptly ambushed the enemy.
Before Xia Linxia could react, the game was over!
Ji Fengxue tossed the phone back to her, “Time for bed.”
Xia Linxia followed her back to the room, stunned, when Song Wan Yi grabbed her.
“Lin Xia, does Teacher Ji need a girlfriend? One who’s terrible at games!”
Xue Hui: “!!!”
“Teacher Ji, consider me! Mm mm mm… I play games… mm” Song Wan Yi was muffled by Xue Hui and dragged away.
Xia Linxia, excited, returned to her room and shut the door. She quickly hopped into bed and grabbed Ji Fengxue’s arm, “How are you so good at games?”
“I play when I can’t sleep,” Ji Fengxue turned off the bedside lamp, “Sleep.”
In the dark, Xia Linxia turned over, “Teacher Ji, my dear Teacher Ji~ teach me, I don’t want to suck anymore.”
“No.”
“Teach me!” Xia Linxia whined, bouncing her legs on the bed, making the mattress shake, “Please, I really need someone as good as you!”
Ji Fengxue remained silent.
Xia Linxia, determined to get an answer, began tickling her, but Ji Fengxue wasn’t ticklish, so she bounced her legs even more vigorously.
Ji Fengxue: “……”
“Please, Teacher Ji, just say yes. Come on, just once, I really want to win!” Xia Linxia pleaded softly, “Please, please…”
Next door, Fang Qiushuang, feeling thirsty, went downstairs to get water. Passing by Xia Linxia and Ji Fengxue’s room, she was startled by the noise, thinking something was wrong.
Just as she was about to knock, she heard Xia Linxia’s “please” and the bed creaking. Her face turned red, and she hurried downstairs to calm herself with a drink.
Young people these days, tsk tsk tsk.
