Chapter 19: Bickering

The villa was located halfway up the mountain. Walking along the road upward, you could reach the top of the mountain.

After applying sunscreen and putting on hats, the two set off. Of course, Xia Linxia didn’t bring a camera, as it was too heavy.

“Old Ji,” Xia Linxia suddenly called out, almost making Ji Fengxue not react.

“I’m so tired, why don’t you carry me?” Xia Linxia whined.

Ji Fengxue turned to look at her, showing no signs of exhaustion, knowing that the camera was filming her back, and began to act up.

Facing the camera, Ji Fengxue squeezed her leg and apologized, “You tossed me around last night, so my leg is a bit numb. I can’t carry anyone.”

[Shocking! What happened last night!!!]

[Thousands of people are begging, pleading for the show to air a late-night segment!!!]

[My nose is bleeding uncontrollably!]

[Wow, tossed around! Fairy Ji was overwhelmed, boohoo, my heart is taking a heavy hit!]

[Great job, darling Xia, mommy rewards you with another round tonight!]

Xia Linxia gritted her teeth; this woman was not easy to deal with. But since the stage was set, how could she give up at the beginning?

She bent over, holding her stomach, moving forward with difficulty, “I’m sorry, but you kicked my stomach last night.”

“I did not,” Ji Fengxue immediately denied.

Xia Linxia pressed, “You were asleep, how do you know you didn’t?”

“The whole nation can testify that I hardly move once I fall asleep.”

[Yes, yes, I’ll testify, the fairy’s sleeping posture is too proper, it’s impossible for her to kick someone and then sleep so soundly!]

[I can testify too, I watched Teacher Ji sleep and woke up with her, hehe, rounding up, it means I slept with her!]

“Then… maybe I rolled onto your foot and asked for the kick.” Xia Linxia said stubbornly.

Ji Fengxue was amused by her unreasonable argument, so she went up to support her, fearing she would babble nonsense, “Let’s support each other and walk.”

“Okay.” Xia Linxia couldn’t think of another way for now. They walked hand in hand, sweating more as the sun grew stronger. They glanced at each other and simultaneously let go of their hands with a mutual understanding.

Xia Linxia pretended to look at the sky, “It’s really hot, dear, I want some water.”

Ji Fengxue pulled out a bottle of mineral water from her backpack.

“No, I want orange soda, the one you bought me last time.” Xia Linxia smiled sweetly, acting cute to get water from her.

The viewers exclaimed how sweet it was, but Xia Linxia was thinking about making Ji Fengxue run down to the convenience store to buy the soda. Exhaust her to death!

Ji Fengxue wasn’t fooled, she lowered her head in grievance, hesitated, and said softly, “The store ran out of soda. Last time I saw you liked it, so I secretly ordered the boss to send all the soda to your house…”

Xia Linxia: “!!!” Amazing! This is an expert!

[Ahhh, I’m so sweetened I can’t function! What kind of overbearing CEO move is this? Loving you means buying out all your soda?]

[Woman, see! This is the soda stand I booked just for you!]

[Hahaha what’s going on with these two, they’re like different people after falling in love. Xia Linxia can act cute, and Fairy Ji learned to be a domineering CEO.]

[Boohoo, I’m online seeking someone to buy all my soda, or milk tea would work!]

Half an hour later, they could already see the pavilion at the mountain top. Xia Linxia leaned on the roadside railing to rest, took a few sips of water, and pulled out her phone, “Dear, come, let’s take a photo.”

Ji Fengxue stood three meters away, watching her without a word.

“Let’s take one together!” Xia Linxia raised her voice.

Only then did Ji Fengxue walk over, standing beside her, looking at the camera, taking a few strained selfies. Xia Linxia’s hand suddenly reached behind her, and Ji Fengxue grabbed her hand, pulled it back, and placed her other hand loosely on Xia Linxia’s waist.

Xia Linxia’s upper body leaned backward over the railing as if about to fall, and she exclaimed, “Ahhh!”

Ji Fengxue pulled her back, instinctively patting her back, only to be pushed away by her.

“What are you doing! I almost fell!” Xia Linxia glared, her eyes showing a hint of panic. She seemed genuinely frightened and hadn’t calmed down yet. Feeling very wronged, she raised her voice, “I just wanted to hug you! Are you trying to murder me?!”

“No,” Ji Fengxue said. She thought Xia Linxia was just playing around, so she wanted to scare her a little but had controlled her strength, ensuring no harm would come. She didn’t expect Xia Linxia genuinely just wanted to take a photo.

Xia Linxia had never been scared so openly, especially by her nemesis. What if Ji Fengxue hadn’t controlled her strength and pushed her off? The more she thought about it, the angrier she became. This woman was incredibly mean, and Xia Linxia’s eyes reddened with fury, “You just wanted to scare me! You scared me to death! I won’t let this go!” She then stormed off angrily.

[What’s happening? Are they going to argue???]

[Xia, baby, don’t be mad. Ji didn’t mean it.]

[Why do I find Xia’s anger so amusing? There’s no hope for me.]

[This seems like regular playfulness, but Xia Linxia is making a big deal out of it. It’s headache-inducing.]

[She looks so wronged, hahaha. Poor Fairy Ji.]

Ji Fengxue indeed felt a headache coming. She looked at the angry girl and chased after her to apologize, “I’m sorry.”

“I don’t accept!” Xia Linxia said, walking briskly without looking back.

“I’ll buy you a soda?” Ji Fengxue jogged to catch up.

“I don’t want it! Who knows if it’s poisoned.”

“I’ll take a sip first to test it, and then you can drink?”

Xia Linxia suddenly stopped and glared at her, “You still want to drink first? Are you even human?”

“…” Ji Fengxue deeply understood what it meant not to argue with a woman, especially an angry one.

Xia Linxia walked on angrily, noticing Ji Fengxue hadn’t followed. Turning around, she saw Ji Fengxue looking around. Her anger flared up even more, “Hey! What are you doing! Can’t you see I’m mad?”

Ji Fengxue: “I see.”

“If you see, why aren’t you trying to make it up to me!? Are you trying to piss me off!” Xia Linxia had never seen someone so clueless.

Ji Fengxue: “…”

“Come and make it up to me, ahhh!” Xia Linxia, mindful of the cameras, thought to give her a way out, almost yelling herself hoarse, coughing twice, and then continued climbing, muttering about not talking to her anymore today, “Damn woman, may you go bald and grow fat soon!”

[Hahaha, sorry, I laughed so loud!]

[So hardcore, so righteous, “I’m mad, come make it up to me,” Xia is such a darling. I love it.]

[Well, Xia Linxia doesn’t seem as bad as the internet says. Isn’t she kind of cute?]

“Xia Xia.”

Hearing the call, Xia Linxia stopped, surprised to see Ji Fengxue running up, panting. She put on a stern face, “Don’t call me so affectionately, I’m still mad… What’s this?”

Ji Fengxue held out a string of candied haws, “For you.”

Xia Linxia was livid, snatched the candied haws, unwrapped it, and bit into the sweet and sour hawthorn, thinking how she honestly filled out her preferences in the information, even listing candied haws, while Ji Fengxue’s info might not even be true.

So angry, so angry.

But eating something like this in front of the audience felt a bit embarrassing, so she commanded, “You have a bite too.” If she had to look silly, they both would.

Ji Fengxue pressed her lips together, bent down, and took a bite.

Seeing Ji Fengxue’s reluctant look, Xia Linxia felt better and laughed, “Have another bite!”

Ji Fengxue: “Are you still mad?”

“Eat two more, and I’ll stop being mad.”

Ji Fengxue looked at her, smiled, and said, “Alright.”

[Ahhh, so damn sweet! Toothachingly sweet!]

[Wow, this development was unexpected. Feeding each other candied haws is such a childish show of affection, hahaha.]

[Ji’s smile is addictive!]

[The air around them must be filled with pink bubbles! Eating lunch with this much sweetness is painful, boohoo.]
